Research Interests: | Biology and agriculture, with a focus on the relationship between the silk industry and the formation of genetics in early twentieth century Japan. Particular attention is given to the silkworm's metamorphosis from farmed to researched organism, and the significance of the mandated use of hybrid silkworms during imperialism.
